Thanks for the help with this problem. As the OS, the Drivers, AutoCAD are complete patched up. Please abide by the rules of this forum. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong, even submitted the error to Autodesk, and then I read your post and it fixed it.
Tried to opend it a few times and there it was. by ralphsanchez. I recall a recent support call with autodesk and they said better stability is achieved with SP1 and 2010... AutoCAD should NOT be running when an update is installed. navigate here How we solved it was open a session of Autocad, which forced a fatal error screen and before shutting the fatal error screen down, open a separate session of Autocad....
You can however backup the registry to be able to restore it and fix any damage you may do, you can find instructions on how to do that here.
Just made the registry edit and problem solved.One note I will add is that the registry edit has to be made as the current user.
