You should see one or more jars there (how many do you see?), and if you unzip a given feature jar, you should be able to get at its feature.xml file. This blog solve my problem and frustration! It led me to this web page: http://www.easywms.com/easywms/?q=en/node/97 …Sure enough, deleting site.xml from inside my eclipse installation directory made the problem magically go away. I removed all plug-ins that have entries in the features directory, but the error remains.

It seems to be preventing me from > installing new features. Two questions remain unanswered: 1) what is causing the error (why is the unzipping of the jar file failing); and 2) why does the error persist after removing all 3rd party I installed eclipse 3.2 with aptana studio as eclipse plugin installed. check over here Perhaps try unzipping the CF update site, and then install it as a local update site, instead of as an archived update site.

In the meantime, your approach of dropping the CF plugins in manually seems like the best workaround. I hope not, since that we eliminate about 75% of all plug-ins from consideration. I installed a fresh copy of Eclipse in a separate directory, installed fresh copies of the 3rd party plug-ins.
The features directory zip contains features in jar format, which is not supported (see my previous comments, such as comment #5). I thought I would crazy with the problem ! Note that on an update site the features and plugins are in jars, and the update manager downloads them and unzipp them into the installation directory. If not, those plug-ins are obviously invalid.
