The results are probably unexpected, but I want to remark that the drive was already stressed a lot and is not far from being worn out. Mines brilliant at reading some of my old mangled CD's lol. Plextor PX-740 A and Lite-On SOHD-16P9S were the only devices with excellent results without any exception. Not the new ones though. It´s very difficult to find new devices, some months ago I could buy a new Lite-On SOHD-16P9S drive by Ebay. That's why EAC also uses AccurateRip to verify a CD rip against other people's rips of the same CD. Burst mode is important because the error handling qualities of the drive should be rated, not the ones of the software.

Cheap ones like "Lite-On", and "Dynex" weren't worth the gas to drive to the store. The Plextor was able to remove nearly all errors on extraction and the few of them are below -60 dB(A)! Abyssal Recovery will skip the bytes which are not readable from file and copy all other bytes to extract maximum data. A program such as EAC can't (to the best of my knowledge) know for sure if a CD is copied correctly.
